NEWS ALERT: The Netherlands: Royal Family Targeted By Run-Away Auto?

April 30, 2009, 12pm:  The Queen of The Netherlands, Beatrix, and most of her family were in Apeldoorn today to celebrate the custom of Koninginnedag, the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina, when a Suzuki Swift hatchback flew blindly through the throng of the adoring public, striking and killing several unsuspecting onlookers.
The open bus holding the Royal Family continued to move slowly away, with the obvious shock and horror showing on their horrified faces.  Police and dignitaries quickly converged upon the crashed auto and immobilized the driver.  The Swift was badly damaged, with a crushed-in windshield and front end.  It came to a crashing stop against an iron fence surrounding a small obelisk monument.
Reports are still coming in concerning the 14 victims, some having CPR administered immediately by other crowd members.  Ambulances were slow to respond, arriving with fire department trucks over 5 minutes after the car crashed to a stop.  The Royal Family's bus was brought to "Het Loo Palace", which was on the planned parade route.
